Education of students and continuous education of technicians, engineers and scientists is a main focus of SVMT. Basic education in materials science and technology in Switzerland is offered in Lausanne and Zürich (Bachelor/Master of Materials Science ETH Zürich or Bachelor/Master in Materials Science and Engineering EPF Lausanne). The Universities of Applied Science in Switzerland concentrate on intensive courses in materials technologies during their education programs in different engineering sciences. The organization MatNet coordinates the different research activities in materials technology of the Applied Universities in Switzerland. After completion of basic education, continuous education is of great importance. For that reason the SVMT organizes continuous education courses for different types of public.
