Metallography
This workshop is open to technicians and engineers. The course is held annually in October and is dedicated to solving problems which frequently surface in industry. The last edition took place at the ETH-Hönggerberg in Zürich on the 23. October 2008. The details of the past events can be found

2007. Date and details for the 2009 edition will be published few month before the event.
Lastly held in May 2007, this is a course whose topics evolve with the growing requirements of the industry. The program for further courses is thus still open. This course is dedicated to technicians and engineers who would like to improve and enlarge their knowledge with recent technical and scientific inputs within their working area. Since this is a 2 to 3 days course, it is hold every 2 years. Next edition is planned in 2009.
Biomaterials
This seminar was held on
23. October 2007, about metal implants, the focus was on their applications, their material properties and design requirements. Further seminars on polymeric and other material classes usable as Biomaterials are planed.
Corrosion and Tribology
The first edition of this meeting was held on 27. November 2008 in collaboration with Swiss Tribology. the Swiss Society for Surface Technology (SGO) and was supported by the «Bildungs- und Forschungs-Fond» of the Swiss Association of Lubricants Industry (VSS). Details about future events like this one will be announced as soon as a date is decided.
"Steel - Innovation carrier"
With this new course, the SVMT wants the participants to discover the fabrication, properties and applications of the new generation of steels. Details about this event will follow.
